About the event
This year we are focusing on the interview section of the application and are offering interview practice to those who have secured an interview in their chosen deanery.
The course will be run by current AFP doctors in London who secured their fist choice academic programme in the past two years.
The course is set up in two parts. The first part will consist of an online podcast of talks, running through questions you might expect, the design of the interview, examples of previous clinical/academic interview scenarios and critical appraisal advice. This will be released before the second part of the course.
The latter part will be the opportunity for one-to-one interview practice. We will run a simulated interview, in the same format as the real interview. The interviewers will then give feedback to the prospective applicant to enhance their chances of success. Tips and experiences from their own interviews will provide insight.
This day will be most suited to those who have received invitations to interview, but is open to students who will be applying for the 2020 intake also.
The course will be free for medical students and open to medical students across the county.
Places will be limited so they will be assigned on a first come first served basis. To ensure that each participant gets enough time for a full interview and feedback, we will be limiting the number of attendees to 30.
Your time-slot will be emailed to you nearer the date, as we await to find out who has been offered a place at interview.
Register now and receive updates on the process.
