Born and raised in Ireland, Michael has been involved with the UKMSA from his third year of medical school. He completed his medical studies at Queen's University Belfast and has gained a place in the Academic Foundation Program at Barts’ and The London, focusing on clinical trial research. During his intercalated year at the University of Leeds, he received a 1st Class BSc in Molecular Medicine with a specific focus on the treatment of Glioblastoma - granted the Jean Shanks Foundation Intercalated award – and has since pursued further research in Oncology and Clinical Pharmacology. Michael is currently an honorary clinical research fellow at Bart's Cancer Institute and a visiting researcher at UCL in Clinical Pharmacology.
